Dr. Lawrence Dobranski, P.Eng., has been working in information security since 1988. In that time he worked with the federal government for over 10 years, 10 years at Nortel Networks were he lead a team working on Product Security, served as a Director of Information Security for the University of Saskatchewan for just under 5 years, stints in consulting with I.P. Sharp Associates, EXOCOM, Cinnabar, and Infosys. Most recently he founded Catalone IT Security Inc., providing professional engineering services in the domain of critical infrastructure communications engineering in both Saskatchewan and Ontario. He is currently working with federal government clients helping them address their SA&A deficits. Lawrence holds a D.Sc. in Information Assurance and an MBA in Information Security Management. He is a contract instructor for Carleton University in the Systems and Computer Engineering Department teaching courses in design of microprocessor-based systems. His current research interests involve the security issues associated with Software Defined Radios (SDR). Lawrence is an active amateur radio operator holding callsign VA3IQ.
